WOW! Went to the Canucks game in downtown Vancouver tonight! Even though the result wasn’t what I’d hoped, it turned out to be a fantastic night!
This picture I’ve posted was just taken with my iPhone. I was super lucky with the lighting and timing. Sitting in the crowd with all those fans is an unforgettable experience, you can’t help but scream and shout along with everyone else, even if you usually aren’t a killer fan. After the game, the group of people I went with decided to go for a walk around the city, cheering and waving at the cars driving past. We got crowds of people to cheer for us, and honk their horns; the attitude was infectious. We aren’t going down without a fight! Who cares if we win or lose, the feeling of an entire city coming together to cheer for a common team is exhilarating! The atmosphere downtown was even more patriotic than the olympics. The echoing of the speakers playing the game throughout the streets made you feel like you were a part of something huge. There’s nothing quite like it.
